Narrative Processing was born in war
John and Natasha Sennett started writing about their experiences living in war starting with the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. They discovered that writing about their experiences alleviated the onset of PTSD symptoms. John decided if it was helping them survive attacks, that he could develop a program for veterans and others. They have published three books about their experiences with a fourth one due out in 2026. John and Natasha have also served as editors for the "Joseph Conrad Program in Narrative Processing at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University" which provides background on the program along with information on the course taught by Barbara Nickless (Best Selling Author) and John.
Expertise from Practitioners
The course is designed and executed by those who know and understand military service and war on a personal level. John served in the US Army and USMC. Natasha grew up on a Soviet military base where her father was on active duty. Barbara Nickless has been working with US veterans for over twelve years and started the Creative Voices program to assist them in dealing with their difficult or traumatic experiences through writing.
